Don Dae Bak

Visited Don Dae Bak on Christmas Eve lunch. A rather good charcoal kbbq restaurant. The wave of people came just after us. Its recommended to make reservations first. They have 2 shops, one just a few shops away from another. You will have to go to the main shop to get a table number. We had the lunch buffet which came with free flow of sides, lettuce and egg. The egg was surprisingly good. Added cheese which was insanely great. Worth the additional top up! The pork belly was a thick cut which we appreciated alot. The restaurant was quite understaffed. We waited quite a while before they served us, took our order, brought out order, etc. But we totally understand that it's because they are understaffed. That being said, will return again!

Patronized this place twice within less than month and came back again after a few months later. Tried both the buffet & ala carte options. Buffet: thick meat cut with several marination options, definitely worth the price. Ala Carte: needless to say much since you are paying a little premium price for better quality. What I observed/experienced is that if you order ala carte, chances of receiving more attentive service from the crew by topping up your sides and eggs automatically as compared to opting for buffet, you need to get their attention for top ups during peak hours.

Nice Korean BBQ place. Went there for weekday lunch since we were in the area. Seems to be quite popular since most tables were occupied but fortunately still have tables available for walk-in customers like myself. Decided to go for the 90 mins buffet and ordered all the available meat options. Ice water and side dishes are included. The side dishes are pretty standard Korean BBQ staples. The serving of meats are quite generous and we were quite full after only 1 round. Of all the meats, go for the seasoned/marinated meats. Our favourite is the marinated soy sauce pork collar. The chilli paste is not spicy at all. They replaced the BBQ plate on regular basis without our prompting which is really good service. Most requests are attended to in timely manner as well. They also help to BBQ the meats if you order ala carte (not sure whether can make similar request for buffet but I don't think they have enough staffs to attend to all the tables and we prefer to BBQ ourselves.) Total damage is $70 for 2 pax so actually pretty decent value for money if you like your meats. I think this place will be quite popular for dinner and on weekends so reservation is recommended.

My 1st time visiting this place. Came becos of highly rated by Goggle review. Maybe the review was for buffet, which could be value for $. However, we decided for alacarte, as we wanted better quality meat. However, for 10 thin slices of beef brisket @ $32, and not tasty, I must say I am disappointed with the quality. Service was ok ok, as they seems under-staff. Overall, my review is so-so for alacarte order!
