Burger Joint New York

Disappointed with the $30 burger and $24 Reuben sandwich. See photos? Yeah. They even look sad. The home cured pastrami is sliced too thick, and is hard to chew. The burger patties are utterly bland, even if they are juicy. We had to resort to the tiny salt sachets (no shakers, sorry). Even the fried Camembert is flavourless. Maybe we picked all misses. Service? Lacklustre. Pity. We liked the cosy ambiance but we will never come back. I’m really not sure how this place earned this many reviews.

My experience at Burger bar New York was comforting. I went there by myself and got the Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of Cheese fries. The cheese fries are good, but eat them while it is hot or else the cheese solidifies. Also, if you are planning to get the sides, don't go alone as the portion is meant for sharing. As for the burger, it wasn't greasy but juicy. There's so much juice that the wrapper wasn't able to sustain, resulting it to flow out and cause a mess. Luckily, they gave me a lot of serviettes and managed to avoid the mess. I agree with the other reviewers that the burger is not the best burger I had and may be a bit under-seasoned for its price. Personally, I was hoping for a richer flavour of spices and all. Other than that, it was a good experience and the burger is served fresh. Of course, if you are here, give their beers a try as they have an amazing selection of beers for you to choose from. If you are unsure, just ask them to recommend as the staff is rather friendly and helpful.

Back here after 2yrs and it seemed less crowded at 1215pm compared to what I remember. The order process changed slightly with the cashier at the bar and the food delivered to our table/counter. I'm good with that as it's more convenient. Bacon Cheese Burger (medium doneness) was light on taste and could have used a little more zing in the sauce. But the juicy patty got us down 'n' durty for sure! Bacon cheese fries with sriracha sauce and sliced jalapeño peppers were wonderful but a tad bit much for 2 regular eaters after a burger and soft drink each. Good options of craft beers to try. Not a place for wine-drinkers. Overall, still a good place to hang out with friends but the prices need to come down! I don't think the burgers are worth the >$20 price tags anymore. 3.5 stars if the rating system allowed for it.

Came here for the burgers but left absolutely gobsmacked by the Reuben sandwich Juicy 1/2lbs pastrami served in thick and soft rye bread, smeared with mustard no less, and topped with tangy sauerkraut and funky melted Swiss cheese. This is definitely one of the best Reuben sandwich I've ever tasted, in Singapore no less.

Burger bar new york was decent. The ambiance was amazing, and there was a wide range of burgers, add ons and drinks and booze to order. The cheese fries were delicious, but definitely got to eat them fresh out, otherwise the cheese will coagulate and might be tough to eat. I got the double cheese burger, and it wasn’t the best burger I’ve had. The patties were generously thick, but it was rather bland, and almost tasted quite unseasoned and did not bring out the beefy flavour I was looking for in a burger. Still a worthy try!

Service wasn’t great. I arrived 5mins early for my reservation only to be told to wait because “there’s still 5mins.” Ordered the buttermilk burger and the bacon cheeseburger. It’s sad that both were expensive and lacklustre. MacD has better burgers (especially the buttermilk burger) for half the price. Onion rings were ok but they were $10 lol. Milkshake was the best out of the lot but I reckon you can get better ones at shake shack. 100% would not return!
