Old Street Bak Kut Teh

The staff is rather rude. Service is weak. The food is average. Love the kidney. However the bone is horribly expensive. Come on for a small bowl is only 2 small pieces of meat seriously! Asked for soup a few times before service is provided - it’s not even peak time. For the price , you can find better food.

Their soup is flavourful and packs a punch, I could really taste the white pepper there. I was presently surpised when the waitress came around with a huge kettle and asked if I want to refill with the soup - free of charge! The dry tendon on the other hand was a bit disappointing, it didn't taste as good as it looks. It lacks depth, all I could taste was soy sauce and a bit of red chilli.

Service was bad, service crew spoke very softly and sounded very reluctant to answer questions. At 7pm, we ordered a set meal but they ran out of soya beancurd. Replaced it with a tasteless soya bean milk. Was not sweet and did not have any beancurd taste. Felt like was drinking ice water. We were served with 2 rice. 1 full bowl and the other was only half a bowl even though we paid full price for both. To further dissapoint this dining experiencr they ran out of their garlicy and sour chilli so early into their dinner service. Will not recommend to visit this outlet. Have been to their other outlets and this is my worse experice so far.

Dirty dirty dirty. Upon telling waitress the entire utensils inside the box had oil since we couldn’t find any clean one she didn’t think to clean the utensils but left it to next customers! No paper is even provided for us to clean our utensils ourselves and the dirty tables despite they aren’t managing to do it themselves! Table is badly designed because 1)menu is not shareable as it’s stuck inside the table drawer that opens to only one person 2) the table depth hits your legs therefore you can’t comfortably sit with your legs crossed. You got to lean your arms over the dirty table oiling your arms, to sit as comfortable possible.
