Putien Restaurant

We celebrated our reunion dinner early to avoid the crowds. It was a good decision and everyone was more relaxed 😊 Food here is very good. We enjoyed every dish we got from the Chinese New Year set menu for 2. The yusheng was good, not too sweet or was it too oily. Perfect appetiser to start our meal! Since there were 4 of us, we added a couple more dishes from the aka carte menu. Glad we did that since we are not big eaters. Will definitely return for more!

While the food and service are as excellent as other Putien outlets, it is time this outlet gets an uplift, hence the 3 stars. The tables are aged and sticky while the chairs seem to come from different eras. Nonetheless the toufu was excellent, the prawns were fresh and chicken was succulent. Although the fish was deep fried, one has to be careful of the bones. Thanks for the complimentary dessert.

Putien is an awesome Chinese restaurant that I would frequent to enjoy Chinese delicacies. We tried the set meal for 2 person during lunch. The variety of side dishes, main and dessert is such a sumptuous selection for us. The sweet and sour pork is sweet and juicy. The vegetables is fragrant with the spread of garlic. Prawn soup is sweet with very fresh prawn. I enjoy the fried peanut with crispy seaweed. The bee hoon is soft and tasty with generous serving of vegetables. The white fungus dessert is smooth, healthy and goes down very well after all the dishes. We had chrysanthemum tea that's refillable. We takeaway the bee hoon and the staff gave us a packet of chilli that goes very well with it without us asking for it. I enjoyed the personal space in Putien and you can make reservations before going down to secure your seat. Staff are very responsive and food are served quickly upon order. #ILovePutien

Putien's food has always been good. This round was not any different. Special mentions to their: - Stir-fried Yam (great texture!) - Shredded Pork with Sesame Bun (shredded pork is a tad salty but the buns were perfect!) - Cabbage Rice (lots of ingredients in it) - Lor Mee (we opted for original instead of the red version; noodles were smooth and broth was flavourful) - 兴化米粉 (i'm not a beehoon person but even this was really good!) Minor exceptions: - The fish (on promo - $8) is small and nothing to rave about so if you're not a particularly big fan of fish you can skip this. - Deep-fried Pork Trotters with Salt & Pepper was mostly bones & collagen/fat(?) so not much to eat despite being tasty. - Soup (I do not rmb which one we ordered exactly - but the star anise taste was overpowering) In terms of service, the restaurant was probably shorthanded that evening (30 Apr) but you could see their staff doing their best. Understandably, wait times were relatively long when it came to having our orders taken, having tea refilled, or getting more condiments etc. Kelvin & Terence were a delight and because of them around, this night would have been a 4 star experience. After payment, a lady staff (think: Sarah, but I could be wrong) approached the table politely asking for google reviews to be written. A free dessert (Lotus Seed with White Fungus Soup) was offered. All's well until she mentions the catch - we MUST put 5 stars (I clarified and yes, even if I didn't think it was a 5 star experience for me that night). What a shame, I think she ruined the credibility of most of the 5 star reviews i've seen written for this outlet.

Good food, always have new season menu whenever i visit. Nice presentation, food taste is just right, fresh ingredient i would said. Aways busy service at lunch hour, service was fast considering the restaurant is full. Tentative service from Terrence and kelvin, if i remember their name correctly. Good job.
