Chezcake Bistro

Chanced upon this place while we did a quick Google search for a slice of cake. We were spoilt for choices (there were so many flavours on display) but picked the Rum & Raisin Cheesecake. Slice of cake was packed in a nice box for us to take away for a small birthday celebration (candle not included). Raisins were plump and well soaked, and the cheese cake weren’t too rich. Good combination and wouldn’t mind trying another flavour the next time.

Ladyboss here is friendly, food is tasty too. Bought the Meat lovers to share with 3 friends, portions are a little small for it's price IMO. Cheesecakes are good, my favourite would be the Rum & raisin and Apple crumble. I guess the only downside for me is the location, shophouse areas are generally not wheelchair friendly. I managed to enter the shop with help from my friends, there is quite a high step to overcome.

Came here to pick-up the pre-ordered 豬腳醋 (the serving is generous and we enjoyed the dish - will remind myself to request for a fatty sinful cut of throttles)... The storm came when I was about to leave, so I took the opportunity to have a nice cafe latte with the affable chef and owner, Cannice. This bistro serves more than just cheesecakes (with so many interesting flavours!). The coffee was aromatic and was a much needed caffeine-fix, would definitely come back for more cuppas and have some scones too which are beautifully baked to perfection. Watch out for Cannice's FB post on the dishes that she would be serving for pre-orders!

A factual review. The math just doesn't work out. Ordered a burnt cheesecake for $35; same price as the NY cheesecake. Paid and requested for collection later. Did so 30 minutes later. Cashier already packed the cake. But said she incorrectly charged $35 when it should have been $50. Didn't want to be difficult so agreed to change to NY cheesecake. Checked out the cakes within the glass case and saw same slices of burnt cheesecake and NY cheesecake $7.50 a piece. So why the whole cake should cost differently? Have not tasted the cake as of now.
