Large space in East Coast that has an eclectic menu for every palate. We booked the venue for a team lunch for 25 pax and the staff were very helpful to coordinate and arrange the food. The food itself is okay, perhaps it was because there were so many orders, but it’s a reliable place to come hang out at.

Located exactly within Santa Grand Hotel East Coast building. Descent place to hang out with friends or your partner for one of the acceptable Mexican food and booze. Recommended to come during happy hours which last till 9pm from maybe 3 or 4pm. The cocktails were good with many selections. The mix however was more to the light version of alcohol when I visited during the happy hours.

It's always a party @platypuscantinasg with $8 happy hour drinks and these delicious $9.90++ fish tacos!! 🍸🎉 The food quality/price is worth it and their take on Mexican food is pretty good imo. 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 🍗 Angry chicken $13.90++. 8 battered fried chicken hot wings served in a paper bag, harmoniously tossed with our in-house special Angry AF shaker spice powder! Crispy goodness! 🌽 Mexican Street Corn $4.90++. Not a fan of corn but this was pretty well done. Very sweet too. 🌮 Battered Fish Tacos $9.90++. soft flour tacos, stuffed w Choice of Protein Toppings, Pico de Gallo, Lemon & Lime Creme, Hot sauce. My favourite of the lot, I think the ingredients' taste and texture comes together well and fish was crispy and fresh! 🥙 Pulled Pork Carnitas Quesadillas $14.90++. Made with in house special cheese blend. 🍔 Katong Burger $19.90++. It has a mini burger on top! Aussie beef patty, queso, jalapenos, lettuce double smoked bacon, monetery jack, Pico de Gallo. Though too much meat for me personally. Very lovely ambience with warm lights.

Yesterday was the hubs birthday and we decided to go to the place near our house than to go to the usual Morton’s that we have been going for the past 10 years. We have been to Platypus Cantina Katong a few times before since it’s so near our place and opted to go there as we have been too busy with our schedules to make a reservation to go Morton’s. We ordered the usual Mexican corn which is always a crowd pleaser and decided to order spam fries as well. You would expect it to be a no brainer … who doesn’t love spam fries … but it was too spicy for our son and me … I kept gulping down water with it. It was perfectly fine for the hubs that can take really spicy food … so beware! Mains was mac and cheese with beef, beef burrito as they had a deal its $18.90 but costs $15.90 on Thursday and had pulled pork enchiladas. All big portions - burritos had rice which was really filling so absolutely no space in our stomachs for dessert. All in all our fave was the beef Mac and cheese.

YesWhile service was great , the food was not authentic and portions were poor . The fish was so small and covered with batter . The cucumber ginger drink was so sweet ( despite our order for less sweet ) - it was no consumable. Huge disappointment. I think the usual “yellow colour brand “ outlets across Singapore has done a better job .
