Picotin - Katong

Nice place for friends and family. The BBQ prawn $32 (4 piece with some salad) and BBQ squid $18 were so soft and succulent. Can try the pinto pizza $22. The wheat beer and stout were nice too! Call for reservation is a must. Seem to be packed. Come in cool wear and it can be very hot. For those who dislike the smell of second hand cigarette smoke, sit away from the main gate as smokers gather near the main gate and the cooler fan pull in the smoke. Hope the restaurant can work on this.

We came as a group of five for Sunday lunch. Three of us ordered the duck leg confit. It was very well executed. The skin was crispy while the meat was tender and moist. The mash was also another highlight - smooth, creamy and with the strong aroma of truffle, paired perfectly with the red wine sauce on the side. An overall enjoyable dining experience!

Chill alfresco drinking spot at Katong, popular among expats. Service is great, staff is pretty accommodating. However, the 3 craft beers we ordered tasted stale and regretful. We had the house ipa, lager and cherry, wouldn’t recommend. Go for beer on tap but other brands. Other than that, would say it’s a good place to hangout.

Been here a couple of times for drinks. This time went to try their food. Overall, the food is decent but for the prices I wouldn’t go back to eat. The pesto pasta was really nice but it doesn’t seem consistent. When I went on another occasion, the pasta’s quantity and flavour was way different than in this picture. The squid ink calamari was an odd dish to crack. Didn’t really enjoy it. The wings were pretty decent.

Service : Quite fast for us although is been inform that need to wait 20 min. The place we seated was indoor but there corner that we seat no Aircon. Food: the Pizza is nice, Fish and Chip just nice but fries with a top up of $5 to truffle fries, yet I can't take much truffle. Location: Katong is quite easy locate if you drive pass but the carpark nearby is limited during peak try not to drive. Pricing: slightly over ex. Environment: wonderful place to seat down drink and chill... Cozy feel.

Been here twice. The vibe is great, though the cigarette smoke is always an issue for me. Maybe a separate smoking area might help. But not sure what else can be done. Prices are hit-and-miss, the kids meal is very reasonable at $15 for a pizza, drink and dessert. On the other hand, the aglio olio pasta a miss - it is very steeply priced for something so simple. I had the barramundi on my second visit, this was well executed and worth what I paid for it. I actually asked for no salt for my dishes, but I believe the fish skin was pre-salted and the lobster bisque also pre-prepared. So in fairness, there was only so much that could be done. Overall the dish was on the salty side for me, but I can see why most people would find it acceptable. Also ordered a salad that came with watermelon, feta and a pomegranate dressing. This was good (but I asked for dressing on the side). Wait staff remembered all my requests, and were attentive despite the crowd. I appreciated them being nice to my kid :) My kid enjoyed it, so it's a win for us!
