Feng Ji Chicken Rice

Love the food at this air-con eatery place! The owner is always full of smilies & it is such a joy to be served by him 😋 If you are not a big eater you can share their fried noodle/rice with another person as the portion served is always a lot more than what one person can finish and the price is very reasonable! Do expect to wait a little during lunch time as it is always crowded 😋

Their signature dish is steamed chicken rice but San Lou hor fen aka 三捞河粉 is also equally on par. The hor fen has a tinge of wok hei with generous amount of sliced fish. Price is slightly expensive than zi char stall but still acceptable given its location. Customer service is good. Highly recommended 👍👍

Just happened to be around the area and drove past this place. Went in to try the food and food generally is good. All served piping hot, service is prompt and portion is also adequately decent. Gave 5 stars because it’s reasonably priced and a rather satisfying meal! :)) Only downside is that it’s hard to find parking around the area. Had to get drenched when walking to the car cos it’s raining.

Don't know what happened to Feng Ji. I used to order from them almost every weekday via Grab. Today I had the last meal I'll ever have from them. First of all, it came with a handwritten note that they ran out of roasted chicken. What they gave was steamed chicked devoid of skin. Comon, if I order roasted chicken, it means I hate steamed skin? At least give me a choice, instead of shortchanging me with skinless chicken rice. The shock continues. The bean sprouts were completely bland, like they were simply boiled. The meat was dry and bland. The rice was dry and bland, it's not even chicken rice, you can even tell from its white colour it's plain rice. The stewed hard boiled egg was bland. Everything was bland, like they ran out of salt. Honestly I've never tasted chicken rice this bad. I've rarely tasted purchased cooked food that tastes bad, this was it. This is after seeing a gradual drop in both quality and quantity from Feng Ji in recent months. They used to throw in all sorts side dishes and in a good quantity for the premium meal. Now you get a few slivers of pickled vegetable and that bland egg. What happened, Feng Ji? It's like a completely different establishment.
