Shiu Yakiniku

I came here with my buddy on a Tuesday afternoon. Only 1 prawning pond and 1 yabby pond were opened. Our experience has been good. We were happy with our catch after two hours which passed quickly. It wasn’t too crowded as there were about 8 of us at the prawning pond. We were well spaced out and that was good. I like the cleanliness of the place. Although the toilet did not smell so good it wasn’t too far from the ponds. One of the crew told us that it gets really crowded over the weekends and so I made a mental note not to visit during the weekends since I really enjoyed the peace and quiet 😊😊

4 stars to the business, 5th star thanks to their regulars who very really friendly, teaching us newbies the ways to prawn. We were there on a weekday morning. 2 ponds out of 3 were open. Nice quiet area under a shelter(you can prawn even if it rains) with music on the radio. I like the flexibility they have, you can return within 3 months to finish your remaining hours so no need to finish all 3 hours in a single session. Even as newbies, once finding a good spot in the pond, we were able to catch 1 every few minutes so it was great.

in the past when there is social distancing I would understand that they only allow people who prawn (with rods) to enter the premises. I have been supporting their business for many years. Tonight I just wanted to spend a little bit of time there, willing to purchase 5.5 hours package for 1 rod but they insist I need to get 2 rods because I brought my husband, my toddler and helper along. They are not going to prawn and merely observing. The place is so empty on a Tuesday night but they are so inflexible in the rules they set. Not going to come back here anymore.

Went over recently after sometime when covid restrictions was lifted/ease. Unexpectedly to my surprise, irregardless of how many pax. E.g, 3 pax, 2 pax purchasing 5.5 hour card. The 1 pax is not allowed to enter the pond. Ridiculous business ethics. Those who are driving over with their families/relatives or friends. Don't bother wasting your fuel or time to get there. Many other ponds out there. *(Used to be their regular before covid days). Their counter service staff don't bother to even explain, take it or leave it kind of attitude. Off I go, you've just lost years of loyalty customer.

The pond and catch rate were ok. However, what I really drove me up the wall was the staff doing the early shift on Saturday (28 May). I like prawning in the morning as there is less crowd but I really can't stand the lady staff that does the morning shift. She is absolutely RUDE! It is as if the customers owe her millons of dollars. When our lines were stuck, we approached her. Instead of helping, she was busy doing other things like clearing the bbq pit area which no one uses in the morning. When it was time to go, it was repeated hitting on the call bell like i'm the receptionist and she is the customer. She couldn't even be bothered to get up from her seat to inform us. ATC is a nice place to prawn and the boss is nice but the morning staff really just made our experience terrible and this is not the first time we were treated this way.

The place is very clean and open compare to others. There are 3 ponds for you to prawn, 2 for the prawn , 1 for crawfish. Catch rate is good if you manage well. I think they put in more prawns every 30 minutes or so. All equipments are provided from net, fishing rods to bait.. Got live music which is a plus. After prawning, can have bbq right on the spot and it’s free of charge. They provide all the tools and charcoal ....
