Chevy's Bar

I love this little bar..might not be to everyone's taste, it's not especially trendy, it's not the hippest place in town, and it doesn't serve gormet food. But it might just be the friendliest bar in Singapore. I discovered by it accident on a business trip..and after just a couple of visits the staff, who went out of their way to make me welcome from the outset, were treating me like a regular. Great atmosphere, exceptional service, good music (if you like 70s and 80s rock & blues), an eclectic multicultural crowd of mostly loyal regulars, but open and welcoming never the less. The kind of place you can walk into alone as a complete stranger, and strike up a conversation and make new friends. A rare gem, if that's your thing.

Haven't been to Chevys for a while so decided to visit after Thai food at Golden mile. Walking up to the bar I felt a stomach problem so my friend said he would get the drinks in and I go to the toilet. Outside the toilet a woman jumped in front of me and turned round to ask where I was sitting? I said I'm not sitting anywhere she then held the toilet door half closed and started ranting at me because the toilets are for customers only ? She then used the toilet and said no more so I could go in. Outside my friend was having some problem with a guy asking where I was even though the beer was on the table? After we finished our beers waiting staff walked past and ignored us even though we wanted more. So we just got up and walked down Haji lane where the nice staff were happy to give us buckets of beer as soon as we wanted them. So overall Chevys was not a nice experience
