Si Chuan Dou Hua

Have tried the branches at UOB Plaza and Kitchener Road, I must say this branch at Beach Road is the best. Be prepared for Si Chuan dishes which are very flavourful, spicy and mala. Glad that we order 3 appetiser instead another main dish. Really like all dishes and I can’t pick out my favourite. Except 水煮牛肉 which is really too oily with strong spice. Looking forward to visit this branch again.

We went for the Ala Carte Buffet which was awesomely good sichuan food. A good variety and enjoyed a 25% discount with promo code. Although it is ending 31 Dec, let's hope they bring this back again next year. Only downside is that the kitchen can't dealt with the massive amount of orders so our eating experience was halt in the midst and lost our enjoyment. When the rest of the orders came, we were pretty full due to the wait.

Pretty good Chinese food, had the Chinese new year set menu - yeesang, soup, mala lobster (small one), cod, pork belly (good honey sauce), abalone, noodles with crab meat, desserts (hasma and nian gao). Got free buns as we were celebrating a birthday too. Service is attentive and the white tea is really good!

Had a good lunch in this restaurant. Highly recommend the Spinach Toufu (well done to taste) and Soon Hock steam fish (very fresh!) and Tiger Prawns (also very fresh and springy). Dou Hua was very smooth, and chicken soup was tasty. The pu’er tea was $11.80 per person (before gst and service charge), including their signature hot water refill performance. Performed by a chinese boy who will refill hot water to the tea cup using a long spout and a swift ending action! Looks dangerous but no spillage

Came here to try the ‘Gastronomic Journey of Sichuan Flavours’ buffet which offers over 100 different dishes. The good: we really enjoyed their dou hua dishes, scallops and eggplant. The not so good: although it is claimed that there are over 100 different dishes, many dishes are similar to each other, except served with different sauces. We did not really enjoy the fish dishes as they tasted quite bland. The meat dishes all started to taste quite similar eventually due to similarity in the sauces. One thing that we did not like was how the staff did not inform us that the Chinese tea was chargeable ($6++) when asking us if we wanted to have it. They stood by the table with a hot water pot, waiting to pour it into the tea cup and we felt pressured to say yes to the tea.

Regular customer here, food and service has always been good. But today, Monday (13 June 2022), 7-9pm. the experience was HORRIBLE and RIDICULOUS. All food was very good. But service wise, this fine and “polite” gentlemen here was the disgusting part of the meal. When my friend asked for more water, he kept quiet and gave a rude look. When I asked for water , he again kept quiet , ignored me, and did not give me water. Seriously, disgusting service! Mind you, he isn’t mute and spoke perfectly with your other staff. I do not pay over $100 for food and get served with such disgusting service. Never coming back again. Photos attached are your disgusting server. To add on, your manager Shirley ENG is extremely cold and slightly rude with her tone. Disgusting .
