Media Invite~ Started in the 50s, Nelson Bar used to be frequented by sailors and captains who docked at the Sembawang naval shipyard, making it one of the oldest bars in Singapore. The bar’s history is still retained through pieces left by sailors – old pictures, life buoys and scribbles on walls – and a pool table that’s made out of decommissioned ships. You must visit Nelson Bar to experience this nostalgic spot and perhaps learn a thing or two about this bar’s past over some drinks and a game of pool with friends. Pool table is not available due to COVID-19 restrictions these days. For vegetarians and non alcoholic people like me,they do serve a range of mocktails and plant based dishes etc. It is a place to rest,relax,listen to music and mingle with nice people. Far far away food court in industrial estate. Reached there 11.30am on a Friday lunchtime. Short queue ahead. Queue cleared fast as the cashier and kitchen are efficient. Soup is very rich and flavourful. $5 portion is still good, with 5 half big prawn. But the quick sand egg was disappointing. Overall noodle, prawn and soup did not disappoint me.
