Nabins

One of my favorite places to chill and have affordable drinks. About $40 per bucket of 5 beers, order the grilled lamb or meat platter. You recline, dine, chat, very relaxed. The only downside - the staff seem to be very relaxed too. They don't really bother you, but they can take a long time to get your orders up. If you're going with a big group (the place can take a lot of people, I am guessing about 200 total), order ahead or the kitchen can take as long as 2 hours to deliver your food.

I used to be a regular patron of Nabins when it was located at Sultan Gate and the food there was very much better than after it moved to Arab Street. I had ordered the Shish Kebab and what I was served was Mutton Curry poured over Mutton Pieces and even that was atrocious. One ponders whether if there had been a change in Management and/or the Chefs. Nevertheless, the food was terrible. The only thing that would qualify as relatively Mediterranean was the Humous and the Babaganoush, even those used to taste much better at the older place. My advice to my fellow foodies is not to spoil the nostalgic memories of the Old Nabins by going to the new one.
