Jin Sha Wan

I would consider this an above average neighbourhood tze char place. Have tried a few dishes so far. Shrimp paste chicken, mince meat eggplant, claypot noodles and Hokkien mee. Very simple cooking but done exactly to our liking. Claypot served on open flame to keep hot. Chicken skin was crispy with tasty meat within. Even the vegetarian claypot noodle also came with many pieces of ?abalone mushroom. Would certainly come back again when we crave for home style dishes.

Paid $172 for 5 persons dinner. The Hong Kong style steamed sotong was flavourful, fresh and chewy. The sweet and sour pork was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and was tasty. The kang kong was average. The chilli crabs sauce was sweet and little spicy. The meat of the bigger crab was slightly tough and dry, and was not blended with the chilli sauce taste. Similarly, the meat of the salted egg crab didn't absorb the sauce taste and the sauce didn't have a strong taste. Service was acceptable.

Neighborhood zichar stall at coffee shop, can order via telephone. Food is alrite, not the best but good enough. You can call beforehand to order the dishes you wanna dabao, and then walk over to the shop to collect the packed dishes. They have a $10 Assam fish head weekday lunchtime offer ongoing now
