Ponnusamy Restaurant

Nice dining place for small gathering & eating experience. Lighting looks different. I did a takeaway of spicy chicken briyani, taste was spicy good. Staff was polite and service was good. The Ponnusamy brand is a reputed restaurant in Chennai and usually meal is good quality, they also maintain that in Singapore.

Where to start 🫣. To be frank it’s not authentic Indian food. Food tastes average and they charge you premium price but the quantity and quality of food is so Low. Don’t order coke here, they will give u can of Coke and will not give ice, even after u ask for ice. U will notice there was nobody queuing in this restaurant, when there was long queue in near by restaurants, that’s your warning buddy!!!. U will be better, if you join the queue in other restaurants. If you are so hungry and cannot wait, just go to Mustafa cafe opposite and get snacks.

Quality is not the same as years before. Way overpriced. There’s additional service charge (service not good) & GST to your bill. Chutney and gravy is too little (not even half of the small container). Mutton briyani have literally 3 pieces of meat inside and 1 egg. Taste is nothing special. To be honest, might as well go to Anjappar (just beside) - price is most likely the same but quality of food and service is way better. Will definitely NOT come back (unless they cut their price way cheaper).

I honestly don't want to give even one star. I have had food in multiple times in Chennai and never had any complaints. But here, it tastes yuck. Meals taste terrible both NonVeg and Veg. Presume their chef's taste buds are dead. They don't even serve curd for meals. I ordered curd rice for my kid. I Thankgod she ignored the same at the look of it. Hence, I ate some, and yuck, it was too sour. They didn't even serve pickle. For this yucky dish, they charged me SGD11. Only God knows why they call themselves a ponnusamy. I would call them just S***ny.
