Cafe Milligram

I and my partner check out this place finally for the first time though we just live next door. This place always gets us curious about the crazy crowd. The food was great but the service seems to be a little bit unorganized. We waited for our drinks for 20min. The food, we waited for almost 45min and found out that it was served to another table. It was our lunch break from work so when we received the food, we rushed to finish it. 🥴 The manager was good to provide us with some $6 discount due to the trouble. Hope this feedback will help them improve not make the same mistake again especially during the peak hour.

I come here sometimes for coffee, and I like how the coffee is brewed. Their lattes are quite smooth. The ambience is really a nice place to catch up for coffee or have a meal. Also collected my mealpal lunch meal from here. The portion looks a bit small for the price.. retail is about $17.9, but I got it for a discount. The salmon seems really small, although it tastes decent (teriyaki). There is edamame, some carrots, cucumbers, brown rice and a runny egg. Won't come here for a meal, since the price is a bit high, but might come for coffee, which is also high, but I'm willing to pay for it.

The lunch seems like a value deal - soup was good, latte was good and the taste of main was not bad, but the quality was not great. The fish was a dory I think (could have done classier), the peas were really hard (left all), the cauliflower burnt a bit, the potatoes was good but a LOT. overall not bad..

Food isn’t too bad but their food looks nothing like their pictures. My steak sandwich definitely did not come with ciabatta, which wasn’t mentioned by the waiter either. Mine came with some other piece of bread and only one slice at that. So I guess it was a good steak with avo and bread. My friends had a truffle delight each and portion was tiny for 18.90+. All in all, taste was not bad but menu could use some updating. Simple one pager without pictures might just do the trick.

Personally I'm not so into these fancy, supposedly healthy living type of hipster food. I have this feeling that it's all hyped and over ratedly expensive food. Still, since it was raining cats n dogs the other day, Milligram is just about one of the few eateries in Marina One that's not crowded at all, hopped in for a quick lunch for the sake of convenience. I must say the all round ambience is quite pleasant n perhaps something I'd liked better than the food... 😊. Anyway, thank goodness the 'healthy beef rice bowl' wasn't half bad actually. I was a tad concerned at the start that I could be eating vegetarian food.

We went during 12pm and the restaurant was still quite emptied but about 1230 it was almost filled. Service was prompt and polite. We ordered the Teriyaki chicken and salmon rice bowl and it was served within 5-10 mins, which is a pleasant surprise. Food quality and taste is good. I totally enjoyed and feel healthy eating it. The only drawback is the pricey pricetag, but I manage to get 1 for 1 deal through burpple. The atmosphere here is cosy and great for cooling over a cuppa.
