Ramen Gallery Takumen

Came here yesterday to have lunch with an old friend. Because it was such a hot day I didn't follow through with my plan to order the Tantanmen and went for tree Chibakara bowl instead, hoping it was going to be a little lighter. It wasn't, the broth was super rich and sense and clinged to the thick noodles like a second skin. However delicious and strong in pork bone flavors this was quite a challenge to finish but surely I did. The chashu was lardy and soft and the tamago was almost perfect. We came at the end of lunch hour so there was only little waiting for a seat but because the shop was still packed the bowls took quite a while to show up at our table.

Went to the shop and asked if they had a dry version. They had and ordered one (off menu dish apparently). The noodle portion was huge so if u are a hungry hippo, this will suit u. Left behind maybe 1/3 of the noodles. Dry version had ample ingredients and was tasty. Just was put off by the sheer amount of noodles :p and yes it's quite quiet in the evening so u can head down here for some peace and quiet and enjoy Ur dinner

Interesting "ramen gallery" concept where they recreate different ramens from half a dozen famous ramen shops across Japan. Wide variety of broths and ingredients so it's hard to make a choice when ordering! Lunch is crowded but tastes fresh and fantastic, worth 5 stars. Dinner is quiet and some ingredients (especially the sliced pork) tasted like they had been left out since lunch time, so not so fresh and worth 3 stars. Hence 4 stars rating and recommend you go only for lunch.

Had the normal miso pork broth, was ok nothing spectacular. Think there are better options down the street or next door (circular road). Service was quick less than 10mins for food to come out considering it was lunch time rush and next door to raffles place business precinct. Price for two people S$40 to S$50 (nett).
