Sakae Sushi

I usually dine here when I want a quick & economical Japanese meal :-) They dun serve rice set or udon, just sushi plates at $1.50 each… & certain special one they will charge $3.00 which I think is still cheap as compared with similar items in other restaurants or eatery place. In terms of varieties they have a lot so if you dun mind the quality (actually they are not bad, but with the price we can’t expect the same as those high end Japanese restaurant ), just go eat as much as you want till you can’t walk :D

I've been coming to Sushi Express for years because at $1.50 + GST per plate of sushi/sashimi, you really can't beat the value proposition! Moreover, kids eat few plates so it's a cheap way to have nice food for the family. Now that the kids have grown up to tweens, it's not so cheap anymore but we're still happy to eat here as a family. Some of the highlights are Hana Maki, Salted-egg Ebi sushi, Grilled Cheese (mock) Abalone sushi, Aburi Salmon sushi, Mentaiko Mayo Salmon sushi, Ikura maki, Salmon sashimi, Mochi, Mango pudding, cheesecake and more. They also have seasonal items every other month like the pastrami beef sushi now (June 2022). Just a work of caution, DO NOT eat the Uni (sea urchin) maki. We tried a few times over the years and were disappointed almost every time. It's just not fresh, and we don't see it anymore.
