Nan Hwa Fishboat

steamboat, seems like a popular shop in SG. staff service with a frown instead with a smile. be prepared to put up with such friendly service when you politely ask for a table. And wait... and wait.. and wait. That speaks of the popularity of the shop, despite mediocre dishes and below-par level of services. To be fair, maybe they're understaffed, and everyone felt taxed with the unending stream of customers. Food wise.. well, the soup is not bad, wouldn't say it's exceptional but then again i'm not really a steamboat/soup person. The other ingredients and portion are mediocre for the price.

Local friends took me to this restaurant for some "local immersion" meal. The restaurant specializes in Fish Head Hotpot and three of us had the Grouper fish head , had no idea there's so much meat on the head! Essentially boneless and the soup was not spicy for a change. 4 star rating since I thought the price was a bit steep for non air conditioned restaurant and far from MRTs.

Lousy. Waited an hour for an order with things missing. They tried to overbill us after I stood up and complained how they were serving others in front of most of the customers. I had to bang the table to get them to realise I was serious. Other joined in and they backed down. Soup was good but rest was rubbish. Dont waste your time. Their facebook page is nothing like what they serve. The steamboats looked revolting with stains on their sides. This place really doesnt seem to care much about its customers from tonight's experience. I can sum it up as "Authentically Lousy".
