Full disclosure: we know the boss of this gem. Still, we do need to get in line on his long list of weekend reservations that could go up to months in waiting! The menu is not extensive, and that’s its beauty. The boss consistently delivers great quality satay (meat skewers) with a special concoction of peanut pineapple sauce. Its prawn aglio olio always make me salivate on command with its fresh prawns, generous garlic and bacon all tossed in olive oil. And its coffee. Oh, its coffee. I could easily OD on it. Dress light as it only offers al fresco dining. And enjoy the artistic surroundings while you wait to be fed.

What sorcery is this! Amazing pineapple and peanut sauce, sinfully cooked pork belly fatty satay, friendly boss satay man who took some verbal abuse with stride... when a Caucasian dude got angry with the fully booked tables and uttered vulgarities in front of his daughter. Will come back again even if the waiting time is 3 months!

In Singapore, some would call this an Ulu place. By car is just a slip road away from Chinatown and by foot will need to cut through Pearl Center and a flight of stairs uphill. The satay were really the highlight. Unique in its own way and definitely leaves an impression. The Aglio Oglio Bacon was also quite a surprise though on the more savoury side.

A hole in the wall kind of cafe. Supposedly well known for the pork satay. Somehow, I liked the chicken satay better. The pork satay must be pre-ordered in advance. I would say the taste was very traditional (not as savoury as those sold elsewhere) and even the sauce was done in a traditional way with grated pineapple. 👍🏼 The chicken satay was tender and juicy. And was coated with some kind of citrus sauce and olive oil I think. It was unique and tasty combi The pastas were pretty decent too. Above all, prices were fairly reasonable too. Perhaps the owner can consider having more fan at the seating area as it can get fairly warm in the day.
