Sembawang Minced Meat Noodle

Visited the store today to take away some laksa. I very specifically asked to ADD cockles. However, there was not even a single piece of it in my laksa. The store owner charged me $6.30 for the bowl of laksa. I am not sure of its price or if I was charged higher but comparing to previous google reviews, the price of a bowl of laksa on GrabFood is only $6.20. I was there at the store in person and there should not be any additional fees such as delivery fees and higher prices on food apps. But, I was charged higher than the price on GrabFood. Nonetheless, the person did not even give me one cockle and it really did spoil my day. My partner and I specifically drove down to the area because there are not many stores that gives cockles with laksa anymore. We did not even live at the blocks near to the shop. A wasted trip indeed.

As I stay nearby (walking distance), been patronising this stall irregularly from time to time when i do not wish to drive out for its lor mee (as there are no other lor mee options nearby around the area as well). The last 2 visits (both dine in), have been having chilli and garlic issues with the stall. I like my lor mee with more garlic and chilli - both the last 2 times over past 2-3 weeks, I was told that they have already given me a lot when I asked for more. Happened again today, and this time, was told they have already given me 2 spoons (usual spoon you eat with) of each - and that if I wanted more - I have to pay - because chilli price hike according to them. So I said - ok, I will pay - so how much? And guess what? I was asked for 50 cents - for 2 more spoons of chilli and garlic each. This is the first that I encounter in a hawker / coffeeshop setting. And I had on a few occasions in the past ordered take-away for my boys as well - both without chilli. I should ask for rebate next time for no chilli -- then again - there is no next time - as I will never patronise this stall again.

Ordered basic fishball noodles ($5.80) and laksa ($6.20) from this stall via GrabFood. Not sure if it was the rider or the seller at fault, but my order specifically indicated the non-spicy option for the fishball noodles, and I requested it less oily. It arrived, completely drowning in chilli oil. Laksa was the sweet type, with almost no other ingredients. Exhorbitant prices for below average fare. No next time.
