Guzman Y Gomez - Orchard Gateway

Located at the heart of Orchard, I came across the establishment while walking around Orchard Gateway I know is well-known in Australia, so it must be good right? The tacos are good and tasty, unfortunately, my first impression of the restaurant was marred upon seeing leftover lettuce bits all over the receiving station, they just deliver order after order on the table and hope someone else will clean the table for them. I decided to take a peek at the open kitchen, it was just as messy. The food is good and tasty but it takes forever to get your food. The reason is the food was ready and I was not aware, kindly use a waiting display system in terms of the service, where the number will be displayed, and diners can self-collect the food. They have plenty of people taking your orders and payment but there is not enough making staff distributing to the customers. Overall, the food is more of a snack, yummy but it requires waiting.

Rush hour then quesadilla cut in half only instead of 3 or 4. How to eat? Update: down to 1 star because of that canned generic "I didn't even read your review" response. came back months later and still the same, quesadilla cut in half, fork and knife given. Why don't you cut it in 3 or 4? 10s for the chef, much better experience for the customer. Ever thought of that? You can save on the cost of the utensils too because I won't need it IF you can actually cut it more!

Yummy! I am super satisfied and happy with my order of spicy chicken burrito bowl. Grilled chicken was not too dry with a nice smokey flavour. The heat from the spice is just right on the tongue. The combination of spices let you know you are eating Mexican. The few pieces of nachos came with the bowl were fresh and crispy. Wish there were more Nachos. This burrito bowl tasted better than the one from US chain of Chipotle. Will want to come back to try some of the other items on the menu. I am very pleased that the outlet cares for the safety of the diners by taking safety distancing measures seriously. No sharing of table even though the length of the table can easily accommodate 1 at either end with a good 1m in between the diners. Returned for their spicy chicken quesadilla. Again I am pleased with the food. Loved the smokey flavour of the grilled tortilla, the charred fragrance of the chicken, creamy guacamole and refreshing Pico de Gallo. Every bite was a pleasure.
