The Good Life

We got to The Good Life about 15 minutes before opening. We sat down at the outside seating to wait. There are no public benches/seating around this establishment; we had nowhere else to sit and wait. 5 minutes to opening, 12p, a middle aged woman, blond hair, came out and impatiently stated,” I need set up out here now, you can come back when we open”. All four of us got up to get out of the way and stand aside. She came back with more cushions for the benches and repeated, with astounding condescension and rudeness,” I need to set up out here now, you can come back when we open”. Instant loss of four customers. I worked in restaurants for 6 years and that is not how you handle waiting patrons. Guess “The Good Life” ain’t that good, huh? Bye 👏🏽

2nd Time in Solvang since 2016 and my wife were trying to show her out of state relatives a good time, decided to wait in the outside seating area before The Good Life opens in 5 minutes. A blonde female employee passive-aggressively, no hi guys with a poker face said "hey guys about to set up" with cushions in her hands for the benches we sat on. We stood up, stood on the sidewalk, she come out again passive-aggressively saying "guys I need to set tables here" not a hello I'm gonna open in 5mins or glad to have you, please be patient. Beers might have been good but service was SOUR. Never going here again

Stumbled upon this place. It was our best stop all day. It’s like walking down into a secret, cozy little pub. They have a huge rock fireplace and great ambiance. Our service was stellar. The owner shared so much information with us and was very knowledgeable about the wine and beer he was serving. We learned a lot and will definitely be back on our next trip to Solvang!
