Akashi Sushi

I like simplicity with my sushi. If I can get a good miso soup, seaweed salad, an eel roll, and a yellow tail roll... then we good. This place did just that, so we are good. The service was quick too, and the food that people were eating around me looked good too. Located on Dixie highway near University of Miami. Good place for a quick sushi fix!

First off I want to say that I absolutely love this restaurant. Definitely some of the best rolls in Miami. With that being said, I decided to try a few different dishes on my most recent visit. I ordered the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura dinner which I felt was average and had a bit too much breading and not enough shrimp. I also ordered the vegetable Udon noodles which were again okay, but had too much cooking oil for my preference. My girlfriend had the Rainbow Roll which she was happy with. I think I will stick with the sushi rolls when I go back.

Really nice small place off of a main street. Menu has a wide variety of things so if you are not a sushi person you can come here too. We did straight sushi and sashimi. The Sashimi sampler which had White Tuna, Salmon, and regular Tuna. Very fresh and was very good. All of the rolls we had were very solid. The interesting thing was the spicy tuna, this was very different than other places. This looked to be a tuna roll cut up,and set on the plate with a spicy sauce on the top of it. I am not sure how I feel about it. It was not bad, it was just different from what is normally served at sushi places. Would definitely come back here again when in Miami. There are a lot of things I would like to try.

Awesome take out sashimi’s and grilled salmon belly sashimi. Tuna tartare and grilled yellowtail Kama at Akashi Japanese. Very fresh and delicious! Thank’s to my former Boss Larry for the tuna tartare and lots of extra sashimi on our take out platter. Akashi is one of the oldest sushi bar here in Miami and the quality is always at its best.
