Good is the best word for this casino hotel. Doesn't surpass any expectations though. Rooms are mostly clean but I wonder how frequently they vacuum because there was candy on the floor and also some mysterious looking dried liquid. The room did smell strongly of cigarettes, but it is a casino. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would skip eating at Rosie's but the chophouse was fantastic.

OK, 4.3 Stars... could have been a 5 if the restaurants were better managed. I understand that coming out of the politically caused Pandemic these days, nobody wants to work, but MANAGING what IS there is of even greater importance. We had a later dinner at 9:30 PM, thinking that a casino restaurant should have no problem serving "latecomers", but it turned out that there were only two active servers for perhaps 30-35 parties. We waited some 20 minutes for the server to take our order (a nice and friendly older gentlemen, but I watched him scurry all over the restaurant in what seemed like a lot of wasted steps -- hence a TRAINING issue). The food itself was fine, and I felt was appropriately priced for family dining. There was no issue getting rooms with adjoining doors in the Tower. The rooms are small, but well kept. We had a great view of the planes departing and arriving at the airport, as well as the railyard movements and scrap yard adjacent. Since the Nugget is directly off of I-80, there is quite a bit of traffic noise in the morning, even at 24 floors up. For our family, the pool amenity was important, and they have Some Pool(!). It is spacious, and even though there were a lot of teenagers in it at the time, those kids were deferential to the adults. Especially those that had young children with them. The pool has 8 separate "baby pools" on the waterfall side that are less than two feet deep, so the really young ones can sit in while mommy splashes around a little bit. Very thoughtful design. To save some money, I would definitely book with a reservation service, rather than pay the walk-up rates.

A great property that offers it all. Long or short stays, I think it gives everyone a well rounded experience. The gym and pool are amazing! Casino has what you'd expect from a larger venue. Lots of selections. The rooms have been renovated amd are very spacious. Hallways are clean and everything seems very organized

The prices at gift shop are ridiculous. The 2 ladies working players rewards office (To the left of the front desk) are racist and arrogant.I seriously doubt they represent the casino's expected level of customer care... like at all. The rooms are awesome! Very clean. Housekeeping promptly brought up extra towels we needed. All 4 restaurants are spectacular!! In fact, all aspects and personnel (other than the 2 women running rewards, guest services office) were exemplary. I highly recommend The Nugget to anyone visiting Reno! Without a doubt.

The epidemic has taken a toll on this place. Some of the restaurants are closed. The "Oyster Bar" is a full on restaurant not a walk up bar however; it is very good for oysters. The rest of the menu is mediocre. Service was slow but friendly. Drinks were good and the price was not bad. The casino is a casino not the best but far from the worst. The pool area is very nice but overrun with kids(maybe it's better midweek). Staff is friendly all around. The room wreaked of marijuana, I don't mind but if you don't like that smell it could be a problem. Overall, I would stay there again.

Majority of slots are very outdated and not that much of a selection to chose from. Delicious restaurant called Rosie's Cafe. Rooms are decent just hopefully you get a room with a window that seals properly as ours didn't and you could hear the traffic from the freeway even though we were 23 floors up. Over all a decent place to stay. Oh and the gift shop is amazing and has so many different options of things to buy for yourself, your parents, your kids, or just random collections of yours they probably have something unique in there for you.

Spent the week at the nugget resort for a conference, stayed over the casino for easy access to the conference rooms. My friends were on the resort side and had a lot more walking. Room was comfortable, had issues with the tv remote- it would stop working for periods of time - made me sleep more. 21st floor has nice views of the mountains. Casino was pretty tight this week. Staff very nice, though.

Something to be said about watching a 4-5 star Casino/Resort deterioration in to a dive in 9 years time. If not for the strong Convention base of clientele the Nugget would be a ghost town. This should be listed in MBA textbooks on how Not to run a casino in Northern Nevada. Until corporate owners pull their head out I don’t see them changing a thing. The rooms need to be remodeled and the casino needs remodeling. Then need someone who knows Marketing to reestablish it’s local base of clients. Vegas Corporate ownership is only interested in the bottom line and you are never going to achieve the success of Nugget until you overcome and adapt to modern clients. Private & Greyhound bus packages bringing in folks from lower income California cities is not the answer. Their convention base has held this casino up with the help of Cal Fire Crews in the hundreds all summer long adding to it’s revenue. The Nugget doesn’t care about it’s local clients that are huge sources of revenue. I recall my parents bringing me to eat breakfast every week at the Nugget and sometimes dinner as well weekly. The restaurants have all been closed and lines are long for poor food service. Biggest Corporate blunder in history.
