Downtown Deli & Donuts

I had The Cure (to Everything That Ails You) special and it was a really good combination of ingredients that complimented each other well. A gourmet bacon, egg and cheese on a pimiento cheese biscuit with a generous helping of pimento cheese on it. It took up about half of the plate! I paired it with a side of grits. Very nice experience and environment. The staff were all very kind, laid back, and warm. My type of place. There is also a nice variety of coffee to choose from.

I had a delicious lunch with a friend here a few days ago. I had the Shrimp Po Boy, the shrimp were cooked to perfection absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed their coffee, and a complimentary donut since it was my first time visiting. Both were also very good. Definitely will go back for other menu choices, really enjoyable spot.

It’s tucked away in one end of a beautiful, artsy hall With other shops in it. Give them a check also on your way in or out. You may be waiting in line for this delicious food, so feel free to wander up and down the hall. The coffee is definitely doable. Donuts are fire, if you get one quick enough. They fly off the shelves. Rightfully so. Delicious. I always get, the nova. Also tasty. Very tasty! I actually ate it too quick before I got a chance to take a picture. Next time. Will update.

What happened to this place? I originally gave them 5 stars but have now changed it to 1. I went in and tried the chicken and waffles again. After almost an hour wait we still had not received our food. When it finally came the waffle was very hard and a strange texture. When I asked why they said because they precook them and then deep fry them! What in the world? It is a waffle and not very hard to make. They offered to comp our meal but honestly I would not even eat that for free. I don't know what changed but I wish they would change it back! Original review below: This is my new favorite breakfast spot! The chicken and waffles were delicious. We loved the self serve coffee bar. No waiting for someone to refill your mug. They have friendly, fast service. There’s plenty of seating since there is “family style” seating in the hallway. The doughnuts are wonderful. Get one to go but get it early, they go quick!

Traveler, the path of your life is about to change. I am from the future, where you are much happier, and let's be honest, a little fatter, because you discovered Downtown Deli & Donuts in Spartanburg, South Carolina. My family and I stopped here on our way to Charleston, seeking a way to get off of the Interstate and away from the maze of chain restaurants. In doing so, we have changed the course of history by partaking in the finest donuts we have ever eaten. My kids ordered a chocolate peanut butter donut that was exceptional, and a glazed donut that was light and fluffy and magical. Another child of mine ordered a chocolate croissant, and that looked amazing. Alas, she ate it fast and could not be distracted. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the other food is also terrific - far beyond donuts. i enjoyed an incredibly fine biscuit topped with a fried green tomato, crispy bacon and pimento cheese. As I ate this, my children gathered around me and begged for a bite. I said no. They cried. I'm not sorry. I know you may ask yourself a lot of questions. What should I do? Should I go there right now? The answer is yes, friend. You should leave your life behind, get in your vehicle, and go to Downtown Deli and Donuts. Park out front. Wait for it to open. I don't care if it's closed for the day. You can wait, and it will be worth it. Why are you still staring at this? Why are you not driving?
