The Standard

A lovely addition to Spartanburg‘s growing fleet of creative and innovative restaurant options. There is a bit of room for improvement on the back office to table dynamics, but it has a beautiful and swanky atmosphere. I enjoyed the Drayton Daisy cocktail, and the drink options are definitely there. Well done on bringing this to Spartanburg.

This was our 1st visit. The atmosphere was exciting. Staff were polite and helpful. The food was good. A little heavy on the taste for me, if you understand that. It was good. But was really heavy, not necessarily on spice...just flavor. I can't really explain...But Good in a different way. Presentation nice. When we were there we were seated directly beside a huge birthday party and not the restaurants fault but the party was an adult party what seemed to be a family. They allowed their smaller kids to run around and yell and pop balloons which wasn't pleasant. But, again, not the establishments fault. A parent problem.

We went on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. My wife's salad was a bit stale, my biscuits and gravy (recommended by the waitress) was not very good. The gravy was street, almost sauce-like, and the biscuits had a gritty texture. You might ask if we complained ... After the food was delivered, nobody stopped by the table for another 20+ minute until the check was dropped off. I'm not certain we will be gong back soon.

Just had my first lunch visit to The Standard. I ordered the meatloaf and it was easily the best I've ever had. The plate also came with mashed potatoes & gravy, light crispy fried onions, and collard greens with the perfect touch of heat/spice. The whole plate was excellent. Don't change a thing, I'll definitely be back to order it again!

The food here was very standard. I was expecting a lot more, considering the hype this place receives. Everything is extra, including bread. Cocktails are also very small and seem watered down for the price. I don't mind paying more for good food and drinks, but literally getting three sips out of an $8 cocktail is ridiculous. Also, the service is lacking. So many different people came to the table over the course of the meal, with our waitress only making one of those appearances. I would not recommend this place. There are a lot better restaurants with better food in the Spartanburg area.

First visit. Our server (Lauren) was AWESOME! She catered to every need and connected with everyone in our party. Food was delicious! Started with the Firecracker Shrimp - YUM! Split the Grilled Pork Loin --- and glad we did. Serving was huge. My only suggestion is that the young lady at the front desk gets a little more training. The "your table is over there" doesn't really cut it. Loved the place!

We came around 7:50pm last night and had to wait until 8:43pm to be seated. If it wasn't so late we would have left. The food was good and the waitress was sweet. The hostess only acknowledged us once and didn't let us look at the menu before we were seated, she stated that the menus will be on the table when they have our table ready. If I had an hour to wait to be seated I wouldn't mind coming back but we probably won't since there are better service out there locally.
