Real Deal Ii

We drove 15 miles for average food at best. The lady at the front counter was on a personal call for a few minutes before even saying hello . She was quite rude, and did not seem to want to be bothered. The counter is as busy, too much clutter and seemed very disorganized. But we placed our order and wanted to check out why so many people suggested this place. No where near the real deal. If the food was better, I could deal with the staff but 0-3 is a big strike out!

First time coming . And it was great . Ole girl up front was REAL as they come.Some people can't handle REAL BUT I can dig it. I'm not from Philly but I'm from Chicago. Made me feel like I was back home at one of the hot dog joints on da corner. It's about the food .Soon as I walked in I knew it was gonna be good. Appearance don't mean nothing. . GOOD MUSIC playing dude in back acknowledged me soon as I walked in. And back to girl upfront she don't play no games so be ready or you're getting your feelings hurt. As seen from reviews. As for me I'm sold they got some new regulars .

I have been coming to real deal for 7 years. Always top notch food. I've moved to boiling springs and have now used that location for the last two years and it's been fantastic. I went back to the Spartanburg location today and while placing my call in order, I had by far my worst experience in any restaurant. The lady was so rude, so disrespectful, and honestly annoying. She kept acting like my requests to ask for no Mayo were absurd and like my call was a disturbance. I've never been more inclined to write a review than now. Usually I don't care. The owner is a great dude and I hate that this lady is ruining his good name.

So my hubs loves this place. I finally tried a bite of one of his sandwiches and immediately ordered my own. This spot is take out only and I called 30 mins before closing. The lady who took my order let me know their closing time and said the food would be ready in 10 mins and it was. When I arrived the lady working the counter was a whole vibe. So chill and had the best personality. The food is delish I’m enjoying mine while writing this. Ignore the bad reviews from salty folks who wish they could make a sandwich this good!!!!! Trust and believe if you go here are are treated badly you started it!!!! Lol For the rest of the time I live here I will be frequenting this shop and enjoying these sandwiches.

I believe the owner to be prejudice. This was witnessed when I myself and another white customer received excessive attitude and were both treated rudely. A gentleman of color walked in and was greeted nicely and order was taken with respect. This is no way to run a business. I hope she doesn’t own the place because she acted like it was her place to act the way she wanted. Will not return

There is no doubt that there are a lot of places that claim they are serving "Authentic" food from what ever city it's from. How many New York pizza places have you seen and ate at that did not do the city of it's origin justice. Let me introduce you to a place that is a complete 180 degrees of that. The Real Deal name pretty much says it all. I decided to check this place out because it's hard to find good cheesesteaks period. The cheesesteak in the picture is how they eat it in Philly according to the lady there. What is it you ask, it's a cheesesteak with onions, mayo, salt & pepper ketchup. I was skeptical at first, but tried it anyway. When in Rome is what I say. I know what you're thinking, isn't it suppose to have wiz on there? To you I say shut your filthy mouth and just take a bite. Life changer. Not only is the cheesesteak authentic, but the Philly attitude and feeling is there too. Don't go there if you get offended easily and can't take a joke. Actually go in there order the cheesesteak and get your feelings hurt. After that you can sit in you car crying about how you were made fun of while eating a life changing cheesesteak and realize the abuse is totally worth it. Ashville Hwy is not the prettiest place, but it definitely is the BEST place to get cheesesteaks in the Upstate. The wife and husband who run the place are absolutely great souls with the Philly hospitality. If you go, tell them Francisco sent you and they might throw something at you. ENJOY!!
