Cozythai Bistro

A very solid, appealing pad thai dish. Very pleasant texture and mouth feel to it, with the hot (temperature; there wasn't much spice at all but that's okay, the menu said it wouldn't be spicy) noodles complimenting crunchy fresh bean sprouts (hallelujah, they weren't cooked in the dish) and chunks of peanut. Could have had a touch more spring onions, with a little more crispness to them, but I'm glad they were there providing their flavor. At the bottom of the plate I was pleased to see there was not puddles of "mystery red sauce" which whenever a restaurant uses that, feels like they are hiding behind something they just glopped out of a bottle. Healthy portion size too, left feeling satisfied. The noodles and sauce itself had a mild taste, nothing particularly memorable about it but not displeasing at all. For an American pad thai dish, definitely better than usual. I'd eat it again.

It was a Friday night. We didn’t have a reservation so we waited about 30 minutes for a table. But it was certainly worth the wait! The food was delicious and plentiful. We ordered appetizers and three entrees and ate family style. The wait staff were polite and they took good care of us. Highly recommend this place if you like quality Thai food.

Pretty "cozy" place. Nice, modern decor. Very popular place among State College folks. Friendly courteous staff were always ready to assist. Made small gestures to show they truly care about their customers, bringing extra plates when they saw we are sharing, offered to-go boxes when we were struggling to finish their enormous portions, brought extra spoons, water glass for our kid without asking. They had a smile all through our meal. Barbecued Thai chicken was juicy. Pad Thai was very flavorful. Appetizer sesame crusted bread Penang was great. And the price was very reasonable compare to other oriental local restaurants like Sakura ( S. Atherton ). Will definitely visit again.
