M & K Spanish Restaurant

Today was my first day at M&K, so I cannot comment on the consistency of the food/service here. Only what I’ve experienced, which was nothing but sweetness and hospitality from the ladies serving. The food wasn’t that oily in my opinion. I ordered chicken w/ brown rice & 🫘 (and a tamarind Jarritos for good measure).

Been eating at these restaurants since they open the first location on Bay Street. The quality at the Richmond terrace store has plummeted. Went there a week ago was given the driest oldest chicken imaginable. Thought it was a one shot problem but we went back tonight my wife ordered a quart of beans literally the entire cquart as nothing but liquid there were no beans. Used to be a reasonably priced place with delicious food now the prices are very high and the food quality is terrible.

This is one of two of the same Dominican owned Spanish restaurant. Their food is excellent. The white, yellow or black rice with pink beans is always very good. They serve chicken, beef, pork, goat and fish either fried, boiled/stewed or baked. The soups are also very good. They also offer appetizers such as pasteles, empanadas as well desserts including flan (custard pudding) and cake. The food can be eaten either in the restaurant or can be taken to go. They are well staffed with usually four or five employees at the counter serving food and taking orders.
