Venga Mexican Grill

Venga is the best place to go for a burrito on Staten Island. This mom and pop restaurant serves high quality Mexican food at a reasonable cost. I recommend the grilled chicken burrito with white rice, black beans, mild green salsa, guacamole and Monterey Jack cheese if you want to try the best thing on their menu. Keep in mind that the place is always spotless and everyone wears gloves while preparing the food. Definitely a must for anyone who wants healthy fast food.

It is the terrible service that makes me give this place 1 star. The staff is absolutely horrible. Not one of the girls who stand behind the counter will ever welcome you. They all seem genuinely annoyed when you walk in and give you an attitude if your request means any extra work for them. Another things is the inconsistency with pricing. I understand if you order extra meat you will be charged but sometimes they sprinkle a minuscule amount of rice (which is a cheap food especially purchased wholesale for a restaurant) in your bowl and if you ask for extra (which is not really extra but what it should be) some will throw another tiny scoop in there and others will tell you they have to charge you for it. Not a pleasant place at all. Take a cue from Joe and Pat's up the street and hire friendly help!

Let's break this down. Service was great (People wise) Place was clean. Cheap and large portion. The Food was NOT delicious. - The seems like all the ingredients were likely from a can - All the ingredients had no flavor what so ever. - The corn wasn't sweet, the herbs were old and the cheese wasn't fresh.

Meh. Food was ok, nothing much, they didn't have guacamole on a Friday!!! It's like Italian restaurant without pasta on busy day.. Management need to work on their stuff, no customers in the store and they took sometime to greet me, because they were too busy talking. Plus charging extra for peppers and onions, while having no quacamole? Veggie bowl came out 8.5$ without guacamole. Most likely will never go back.

Unfortunately this place has gone downhill in a bad way. Summer 2015 they were a good substitute for chipotle but over the last few months its gotten pretty bad. I just ordered tacos for my kids and a burrito bowl for myself and neither were edible. I hope they turn it around, but I won't be going back anytime soon.

I drove 20 min there for a steak burrito. There were no customers in the store and the girl realizes they have no steak and apologizes so I said I would wait. The girl goes, "Oh, well it will be over a half hour." I told her I drove 20 min to get there and she shrugged her shoulders. Never going back.
