The Talk:house

We were a party of 4 for dinner at 5:15 last night March 24th. We arrived on time and were seated by 5:23. We requested the Early Bird Menu and were told that it no longer was available until 6 PM. The waitress apologized, and said it was only good until 5:30. We had 5 minutes to make decision. Not Good!!! PLEASE CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE!!! My second recommendation is to tell your waitresses & waiters not to take a salad plate off one of the guests while the 3 others are still eating their salads. (One of my pet peeves!!!) Our orders came out before our other 3 salad plates were removed. Awkward to say the least! On a positive side, the food was delivered to all 4 of us on Hot Plates and everything was delicious!!! We do recommend Talk House for the food and atmosphere!

I had the hamburger with extras including mushrooms which was very good. It came with a side of fries which were fine but I am not a big French frie fan. My friend had the shrimp appetizer and wine. The shrimp were quite large and a generous serving. She said it was delicious. It was nice sitting outside.

We took some visitors to the restaurant tonight since we had a good experience the first time we were there. But this time we were disappointed in both the food and the service. Somehow our reservations were lost -- but they did find a table for us. Our waitress spilled our water and beer on herself and the floor nearly missing our clothing. By the time we ordered a little after 7:30 pm we were told that some of the entrees we wanted were already out and we had to take our second choice. We waited a long time for our entrees and when they did arrive they were lukewarm. The food tasted Ok but not great. Our waitress must have been busy because we did not see much of her. With this experience we will think long and hard before returning.
