Best chip shop in the north east, always fresh and plenty of.

The food and service at Fountains was incredible, and the welcoming atmosphere truly stood out, especially as I'm not a typical local. I decided to break away from my usual fish and chips spot after hearing the buzz around this place. The person operating the fryer was particularly warm and made an extra effort to make me and my son feel at home.
The food was exceptional, with the fish fried fresh and the chips cooked to perfection. My only minor critique would be the underwhelming size of the portion of chips served with the fish, and the addition of fresh tartare sauce could elevate the experience to absolute GOD level. I will undoubtedly be returning, as Fountains is now my new local go-to.

Not a big take away gaddgi but this fish shop reminded me of
John Mcardels fish and chips in Monkwearmouth when I was a lad this fella and his wife were the best.ONLY MY OPINION.
Now this man at Charley hill is as good if not better.

FISHING FABULOUS! Never tasted fish and chips quite like it, I’m 30 year old and have eaten at many fish and chip takeaways / restaurants in my time but this place is incredible. Lovely traditional takeaway with excellent staff both serving and chefs, extra great value for money!

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips and very friendly staff. I travel from Chester Le Street every Friday night for these, nowhere else I’ve tried even comes close.
