Pho Tam Restaurant

It is my favorite Pho restaurant but only for dine in, not take out. I ordered once to take out but ended up the soup wasn't hot enough and the noodles stuck together ! Portions are generous with reasonable price. The only downfall is the free parking space is limited but there are plenty of pay parking in the Safeway that opposite from the restaurant.

If I can give them negative star, the worst restaurant I ever been to. I have no idea why they have so many good rating ! So disappointed ! I ordered a rice plate and the meat was black burn. I asked the guy to change my order, he just stared at me very rude and walked away with the plate. I can over heard his voice and people in the kitchen at the back, they were talking in Vietnamese that I can understand. I stood up right away and walk out the door ! Never be back there again ! And you should never be there ! You will never know what they will put in your food. Disgusting !

Pho Tam has been around for many years. I’ve been going to them for more than 10+ years. They have a decent size dining space and before covid it was always packed. But you can get a spot pretty easily as the turn over of customers is quite fast. The decor is what you’d expect for the neighbourhood restaurant, but the food is superb and always consistent. Parking is quite a challenge at this location, as there’s limited space outside, there’s some paid parking in the alley way, but even then it’s hard to find a place. FOOD: I highly recommend getting their combo (Special A with spring roll, or Special B with a salad roll) if you are hungry. Otherwise their large pho is more than enough for me most times. They’re really generous with their meats and portion sizes. Soup is clean tasting but I do taste MSG. Overall, it’s well done and has become a familiar spot for me and my family. Especially on cold fall/winter days, it can really warm you up. SERVICE: Service is speedy and they bring everything at the beginning. It’s not the same as a western restaurant, so you have to flag down a server if you need something.

I used to come here often until either the chef or management changed. Before it was very worth it, the prices weren't as high but more importantly they used to be very generous with the ingredients and the soup base was light. I usually get #4, noodles with beef tripe and beef slices. Currently they don't put much beef tripe at all which is disappointing. They didn't have good service either, not really greeting me when I went in, not checking up if I needed anything, and just taking the menu away from me when I wasn't done with it.

This restaurant is so dirty and service is really bad. Waitress had an attitude, took so long to come to us and gave us napkins with dirty sauce on it. My moms soup has imitation crab that has green spots on it and was sour tasting. We ordered to go as well and instead of giving the food to us directly, the waitress just left the food on some table far from us and expected us to walk up to get it ourselves. According to other reviewers, they seem to treat people of colour badly but treat caucasians really well.

One of the most consistently good pho that leaves you craving for more. Good price and good portion, large seating area so there's always room. Having pho and drinking tea here has become a habit.
