Fong's Eatery

I use to LOVE Fongs, but my order today wasn't the best. We got a large wonton noodle soup and it was very small and also had maybe a half a cup of broth in the whole thing. It was more like a noodle dish than a soup, and thats what I was really craving. Then our crispy chow mein was not crispy at all but loaded in sauce and was as wet as my soup. We called to complain and they just said ya sorry it suppose to be like that and didn't even offer a replacement or credit... So, sadly this will be our last dinner there. For a $70 order, we are left very disappointed and not into the food at all!

This place is so off the beaten path but needed to be reviewed properly so here it goes. We originally used to frequent Lido in Newton (if anyone remembers this place) for years, probably 20 years or so until they closed down for good a couple of years ago. Have been searching for a good place ever since, until we where suggested this place by a local resident - word of mouth. It's like walking back in time when you walk in, almost like an older middle class house. (this place should be registered heritage, agreed with a previous post). Yes it's a little run down but the food quality and taste makes up for it. Clean modernized cooking equipment doesn't exist here. They still cook on the tools that where made in the 1950's and that is just fine! The food is out of this world, served hot and with a smile each time. Best of all, the food is EVEN BETTER the next day! (leftovers) It's honestly a blessing that this place exists, and still exists to this day as it always had to this very day. Thank you Fongs!!! <333 Our favourite is the Spicy Garlic Beef, Chicken Chow Mein (no beansprouts), as well as the Lemon Chicken. I'm drooling just thinking about this food.

Ordered takeout today for dinner and like most we've eaten Chinese many times but just moved to this area and hadn't eaten here yet. Many people picking up orders when we arrived to pick up ours this Saturday night. It was fresh, hot, on time and everything tasted the way we wanted it to, like great Chinese food, except the chicken fried rice was a little sticky but flavorful. Will definitely order from Fong's in the future.
