Salty's Fish And Chips

So, I would highly recommend avoiding this place. My wife and I went in with our infant Son. Off the bat, neither bathroom had an infant change table, so my wife had to change his diaper on the bathroom floor. Next up, the drinks they served were completely flat, and kind of gross. I had diet, so it tasted even weirder, but even my wife’s 7-up tastes funky. Next, was the food itself. Now, I may be biased, as the Cloverdale Saltys is amazing! But, even so, I expected way better. The dinner buns we ordered were stale. The waiter had to check the butter packets he pulled out from the fridge in front of us. It looked like he was looking for an expiry date. The fries were way too salty, to the point where my fingers were coated in the stuff. The fish itself tasted funny. It wasn’t even close to fresh and very dense towards the centre, like they use frozen fish sticks instead of fillets. Finally, my wife found a hair in her fries! It looked like it was cooked hair. The waiter said it was probably from the bag the potatoes came in. After discussing it with him, all he offered was $3 off! Do NOT go here to eat. If I could score this place lower, I would.

We had take out and ordered the family meal that feeds 3-4 people. We also ordered 2 orders of the shrimp. The fish was pretty good. Fries seemed really fresh. The homemade tarter sauce tasted like mayo. The shrimp was really good. It would of been nice if we actually got the second order of shrimp! They only put one in the bag.

I eat there two times, the halibut was tasty. But I didn't like the plastic made glass that had stains all around. I never touched my drink. Because it's hard to disinfect the plastic made dishes, in my second visit I ordered my drink in a can. Then I request a straw, the waiter brought a straw without out any cover or wrap. Because he touched the straw I didn't use it. The other thing it will be better if we have a view to see inside the kitchen and know how our foods are being cooked. To me the taste of the dishes are important but the most important thing is hygiene. Please take action as soon as possible about hygiene so I can come again and taste the halibut. Thank you

The batter is light but the fish was flavourless. Coleslaw was good and I don't normally like Coleslaw at these places. Fries are good too but the tartar sauce is flavourless. Service was good but the tables are sticky. Over all an ok experience but won't be rushing to go back. Apparently on Tuesday they do an all you can eat deal.
