It used to be superb value but unfortunately covid took the better of them. At $3 a plate with awesome quality, this place can’t be faulted. Unfortunately now at $3.9 for a plate and the things are clearly less fresh it becomes a harder sell. (Just look at that tuna photo…) All in all however I’m still happy to come for my sushi fix. Just that there are now better options around.

Well priced sushi train! All of the sushi was delicious, especially the scallop sashimi, and so I will definitely be back.

10 years ago Sushi Rio used to be a super popular venue on the corner of Liverpool and Sussex st with great tasting food, priced a bit on the expensive side. Sushi Rio has now moved down the road near market city, and Sushirio is in its place. It has since changed management, and all plates are now $3.90. The serving size is reduced, taste is ok but not spectacular like before. It's still very popular, but the atmosphere inside feels different, like it has lost its special touch. They no longer serve cocktails, and some options on the menu have been removed. It was still full of people, but I can't give it a 5 star rating anymore.

My lord how thin can you slice fish? We used to come here a lot but haven't for a bit over a year. It used to be a great place for sushi in the city of because there were many authentic places. Most of the sushi places in the city are either Chinese or Korean. This place was not bad as it had quite a good range and it used to be high quality sushi. But coming back after a year I found many things around here have changed. It is still a crowded shop with a table count around the Sushi Train and a couple of tables around the sides. They have a screen ordering system where you have a computer screen every couple of seats so you don't have to call out to people. The sushi chefs on the longer Japanese. Not necessarily a problem but probably a sign that ownership has changed from the original owner. The sushi itself has changed a lot. They are smaller than before, and there's anyone from Japan will know a sushi is about a quarter of the size of a Sushi Train in Japan. That by itself is not a problem, it's something we get used to in Sydney. But the actual thickness of the fish on top of the sushi was shocking. When you order something like salmon or kingfish or any other sliced fish, the piece of sashimi on top of the sushi is about 1 mm thick . It's basically a third of the thickness of other regular sushi trains, and probably a fifth of a thickness of a proper Japanese restaurant in Sydney. Imagine our shock when in 10 minutes we ate $80 worth of so-called discount sushi and it felt like we just had appetizers. I wouldn't really recommend eating here as it has the terrible combination of high price and moderate quality

Some of the friendliest and welcoming staff, some of the best sushi ive had especially for the price, and one of the cleanest restaurants ive been to. They are constantly cleaning, preparing, and serving. Definitely my go-to sushi destination now. Thankyou, Sushirio.

The worst customer service ever experienced - they DO NOT know how to say sorry. Nigiris look not fresh and one of staff do not even know how to make nigiris properly. I thought they were making soft drinks or had to go to factory to get them. However, the fact is that they had time to prepare the drinks for pick up customers, not for dine-in customers. It took over 15mins for them to get us 2 cans of soft drink I ordered some nigiris as they didn’t have any. It ended up with me getting none of them. If they cannot make them, shouldn’t they tell me how in advance ? Or at least apologise for that ? However, the customer next to us ordered the same thing and they got it right away. We then informed the staff that we have been waiting for the nigiris over 20mins, one of the staff smirked and the other just ignored us. Lastly, our miso soup was served COLD! Hope it doesn’t happen to other people.
