Bar M

Bar M has an amazing space and venue with fantastic artwork. The service was really good by all of the staff. The real letdown for this amazing space and venue is the food. The main food was bland and had no flavour at all. It was if the chef’s put the ingredients in made the dish with zero seasoning. The olives tasted nice and that’s about as good as it got with the entree’s and mains. The desert was very good! The pavlova is a must try and had a great balance of flavour. I would recommend only going here for the drinks which where great and only a few entree’s and maybe desert if you’re up for it. Don’t waste your money on the mains here as you will be just wasting your money.

This place deserves a 4+ star rating, the food was great! Ordered the arancini (which was cooked perfectly, had a nice crunch and soft cheesy middle), the duck ragu (solidly made, wasn't over or undercooked, and the sauce tasted amazing), and the flourless chocolate cake (which was good but I liked the berry pavlova that my girlfriend ordered much better, was nice and light but still was full of flavour, tasted refreshing which is nice after heavy Italian). Service was quite attentive and polite, although may be due to it being a quiet rainy Wednesday night, the restaurant was quite quiet and not packed. Overall, would definitely come back, maybe on a busier night where the vibe of the place can really shine through, because the overall space is quite chic and aesthetic, but because it was so quiet, didn't allow us to fully see the character of the restaurant.

Overrated. Called to book a bar table and was told walk in only and to come on down. Walked 40 minutes there. When we arrived we asked for a table for drinks and they asked if we had a reservation. We said no and after a while they hesitantly gave us a table at the bar. Mind you there was no one in the place at this time. The venue is pretty cool, I like how the bar and restaurant are separated. When we were seated it wasn’t explained that we had table service. After 20 minutes of no service (still barely anyone in the place) I went to the bar to order drinks. I waited 5 minutes before bar staff told me it was table service and to return to my table. They noticed me many times before that. The drinks were nice. We decided to order a cheese platter. I would barely call it that. The portions were slithers, I don’t know how they justify $35 for what we got. Please improve service, attentiveness and value..
