Kurtosh Surry Hills

I haven't actually tried their kurtosh because last time I ordered they told me there's a 30 minutes wait as they had a lot of online orders. I always have their cheese cake which is dense enough but not too heavy and not too sweet. Perfect with a cup of coffee. They weight the cakes so you don't really know how much you're paying so just order what you can eat.

The other day I asked for a slice of strawberry sponge cake to the value of around $6-$7. Instead of telling me how much the slice would be, he told me how much it weighed? Once I got the price it came to $4.20. I asked for a bigger slice. Then the guy adds another piece to the box. Again instead of telling me the cost, he tells me the weight. I then ask how much it would be, and he then says $13.40. I asked him to remove the smaller piece, and I’d take the larger one. It came to $6.85. Great, perfect - that wasn’t too hard, or was it? I then handed him a $20 note and he says, can you pay with card because I don’t have any change. The cake was for a friend of mine and I didn’t have a card nor did I have the exact money. Is this normal, usual when buying a slice of cake from this establishment? I left without the cake, due to him being unable to give me change from a $20 note. Bizarre and really unfriendly experience.
