Old Town (hong Kong Cuisine)

This place has a wide variety of dishes which are nice. However the duck in the Peking duck bar was cold and the crispy roast pork crackle was not crispy bit chewy, as it was microwaved and not fresh. The dim sim and crab soup was delicious! They also have card surcharge and interesting dine in conditions such as minimum spend $35 per person for dinning in.

Average service and not bad food but not really good too. To dine in here you need to spend at least $35/person which is kinda ridiculous. The honey bbq pork is the only food that deserve the stars. The dumplings are very bad especially the chicken shumay. The wonton chili oil is me, especially the wonton has really thick skin. Very dissapointed, not recomended at all.

We decided to give this restaurant a try as we enjoyed the one in Barangaroo. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a lady who advised us that we had to spend around $35 (I think) per head before she would sit us down. I looked at my toddler and she quickly said for adults only. It was pelting rain outside and we just wanted to eat so we agreed. This is already a negative experience, when was there ever limitations to how much we must spend to sit down? It's like we had to agree to their terms and conditions. Who wants that as a welcome greeting before stepping into a restaurant?, no thanks. When we sat down, they ignored us until I called them over. The lady that took our order was grumpy, no smile or small talk. Basically it was "what do you want?' attitude. We ordered deep fried cod, scallop with broccoli and Shandong chicken. The scallop was too salty, the chicken was dry and the fried cod tasted just like batter, there was no fish taste in it. We left very disappointed because it wasn't cheap either. It costed us around $130. We couldn't wait to leave, even if is was pouring outside.

We ordered a chicken dish to share among our table and instead of tasting like chicken it tasted like fish, which was identified by all of our table guests. The owner refused to listen to myself and the 6 other guests at the table and ran around offering our plate of food to other guests in the restaurant asking them to taste it. Which multiple people were disturbed by and refused to engage with her. The owner has an issue with being incorrect and offered very poor customer service. Would not recommend.

I have been here many times. Obviously, reason of returning was that it was great food. Last couple of visits, including tonight. I feel that staff are lacking to produce the same fast paced quality good they're known for. Tonight I just stopped by for a quick dessert grabbing 2 mango pancakes and a deep fried ice cream. After waiting 35 minutes for 3 small desserts I was really disappointed to find the mango pancakes uninviting by presentation, very warm, soggy, and could smell wet hands on the dessert. Usually this dish is served cold and dry on the outside. Well tonight's wait time then to eat a really disgusting dessert. And unfortunately the fried ice cream was cold. It honestly tasted as if the food had been sitting there for ages. Really sad as this place used to be manys go to! I see the for lease sign out the front. Maybe old town is saying goodbye?
