Japone Sushi

People: I have to say - THIS PLACE is my favorite sushi place in Sydney so far. When Sushi Train is like the fast food chain of sushi restaurants, Japone is the high end of sushi trains. The food they put on the band is of great quality and the sushi roll creations are original and all worth a try. Some are quite unusual. A must-have starter is the spicy and buttery edamame and the baked scallops are just delicious. I think that the volcano roll is one of the signature rolls (at least in our opinions). Japone also offers a great range of sake (warm, cold and blended variations), Japanese beers and other drinks. The interior is inviting and the chef and his team are very friendly and nice. The meals and drinks are worth their value!!

I have been to Japone Sushi many times and usually it's really great! But last night was a huge let down. The focus was on UBER Eats orders and take away leaving 2-3 plates on the train and many hungry mouths. People were being turned away due to this. If you're going to cater to take outs then you need to have sufficient staff coverage to ensure the people that come into the restaurant are taken care of. Without the front line, you have nothing.

We have been to Japone Sushi many times before and always enjoyed our experience. Last night was not one of those times. I understand that a Saturday night can be busy, however, for half an hour there was practically no food on the train. The takeaway orders were coming in and going out but we remained hungry for a long time. Without the shop, you have nothing guys. Sadly experiences like the one we had last night, when we were taking a visiting relative to one of our favourite places, leaves a bad taste in our mouths.
