Harbour Bar And Kitchen

I've seen alot of people give this place bad reviews. I had a decent time. After seating us, the waitters didn't approach us for 25 minutes. Instead, we had to ask one of them to take our orders. However, the food was excellent, the staff seemed as if they were doing their best, and sincerely apologised about the wait. We ordered a chicken parmigiana and the braised beef ribs pasta. The portion sizes were great and the food was top notch! If you go and are not being served for a while, perhaps it may be in your best interest to talk to the waiter about it!

Had breakfast here. Nice, slightly elevated view of Darling Harbour if you sit outside. Eggs Benedict and vegetarian big breakfasts were eaten with nothing left on the plate! Coffee was good . Staff were welcoming, professional and efficient. Cozily decorated space with a warm ambiance. I would definitely return to check out the lunch/ dinner menu.

arrived at 6:40pm did not have a single employee approach us other than to give us table water. we watched the table next to us have their order taken, and their food arrived before we had the chance to order our drinks let alone our meals. after 35 minutes, i had to flag down a waitress and ask her if we could order at 7:15pm. it was a struggle to even do this as none of the staff would make eye contact or look or come in our direction. i said to the waitress “can we please order? we’ve been here for 40 minutes and haven’t even ordered a drink”, i didn’t get an apology, and honestly i didn’t get much response. i watched her then go and clean a table then a few minutes later someone (not her) came over and took our order. another table by us had finished their meal, the table was cleaned, and other people had then sat down. their order was taken literally minutes after ours was, except they had to wait about 10 minutes and we had to wait 35. our drinks and appetisers arrived at 7:25. the raspberry coke was fine until the bottom when it was just syrup. our dip trio was a lot of bread and barely any dip (when we thought the dip was supposed to be the main part of the appetiser considering it’s called DIP trio, not a loaf of bread and a teaspoon of dip). the “guacamole” was just avocado dip which tasted a lot like the avocado dip made by a brand named black swan that you can buy at woolworths. the other table, which was a larger table than ours, that had their order taken minutes after us after only being in the restaurant for 10 minutes had their mains arrive before ours. an hour after our arrival, at 7:44pm, our mains arrived. the chips were comparable with oven chips you’d make at home, and did not have a single grain of salt. the burgers however were great. we ordered a double cheeseburger and the fried chicken burger, which then changed to two double cheeseburgers as they did not have any fried chicken left (we did have the option of grilled chicken in stead). it’s such a shame that we had such poor service at this restaurant because we definitely would have given it another go. majority of the food was average, the only thing good about our experience tonight was the burger (which was just as good as any other restaurant). if we weren’t starving (and all other restaurants in the area were booked out), we would have gotten up and left. we are so disappointed.

We booked for 10 people and the marketing team said that they provided us with a big table on the terrace. When we arrived, the booking was not made. There was a miss communication between the waiters and the management. We sat down inside and we requested the AC to be on. They turned on the AC for 5 min and then they turned it off again. All in all, the experience was not the best but the food was outstanding. We had ribs, burgers, and seafood. Nicely cooked and well served.

The food and view are nice. Sadly the loud music isn't enough to cover a small group of (5) really loud Uni students all the way across the balcony, not to mention the amount of swear words they used. For the price you pay, you do expect to able to enjoy your food or hearing someone on your own table. I do wish the staff will step in. However, my wish is way boyned hope since not a single staff ask me how we are for the whole 2 hours i was there including when we are paying the bill. I am not likely coming back to a place that's so poorly run. Visited Sunday 17 Jan 2021 between 4pm to 6pm.

I booked a table for my mums birthday through first table which entitles us to 50% off food. When we arrived there was no booking and the maitre d didnt know anything about first table and looked a little confused. She called someone over and they explained the details and got us a table. We sat at a small table in the corner (can fit 2 people comfortably, but the 4 of us we're crammed in). We had to put things on the floor to fit the food and drinks on the table (such as the bottle of water and table number sign). We had to repeat our order at least twice because the waiter didn't know what we said, I wasn't sure if it was due to the language barrier or lack of experience, we had to point to the item on the menu so he understood. The worst part, we ordered the chicken wings and found a long hair in it, not just sitting on the top, it was mixed right it. We asked for a fresh batch which came out promptly, the waiter was apologetic at the time. We didn't take that incident any further as we just wanted to eat and leave, the restaurant also didn't take it further. I guess they considered our silence as a issue resolved. Won't be coming here again as there other places along Darling Harbour that have way better service and food.
