Jones The Grocer

Overall a great dining experience. The staff were friendly and the decor is lovely. We order the Wagyu Beef Salad and Poached Butter Chicken. The beef salad came with watermelon and goats cheese mousse. The watermelon was a nice contrast to the goats cheese mousse. It was beautifully presented. The poached chicken came with a tempura vegetable, carrots and spinach leaves. The dish was lovely. The poached chicken was a little overcooked, but staff sought to rectify this.

My friends and I went to Jones the Grocer for coffee but once we saw the dessert options we couldn't resist. I ordered the Sticky Date Pudding and I am not lying when I say it was the best Sticky Date Pudding I have ever had in my life. I wish I had taken a photo but I was too busy devouring it to worry about photos. We were actually sitting near the kitchen and we could see the chef making our desserts. The sauce for the sticky date was in a huge pot and considering how amazing it tasted I am guessing they go through a tonne of the sauce each day. I love the that they have the takeaway section where you can get coffees and pastries plus they also have the retail area where you can sample and purchase crackers, sauces etc.

It is the worst $50 I have ever spent for dinner at Jones the Grocer. From the outside, it looks like a high-class joint so my fiance and I were keen to try it for a long time. It is the first time I have eaten a pork belly where the pork skin completely cannot be chewed - it was rock hard. The prawn risotto was not fresh - prawns were mushy and there was a strong "stench" of stale prawns as soon as the dish arrived. For a shop located in central Sydney Westfield with a price tag of over $20 a plate, I expected a lot better. Staff were pleasant and nice, but they could see that we were unhappy with our meal, and did not even dare to ask us how the food was because I reckon they knew it was terrible. Never ever going back, and never recommending anyone to go there to eat.

I was referred to Jones the Grocer by several friends as a nice place for a weekday lunch but despite the hype came away a little disappointed. It is loud inside so don't go if you want to have a meaningful conversation with some without have to shout. The food was just OK, with the orecchiette sauce too runny and the pasta a little under cooked. The salads we had to accompany our meal was very basic, fresh but lacking seasoning. Would I go back, probably not with all of the choices in the new Westfield complex.

I had a chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich, although very basic, was quite tasty. It was pretty cheap - $4.50. It was filled up, looking pretty popular for a thursday, and the seating was very cozy. I mainly went to this place because there were many people inside, and the food displays looked tasty. I would recommend this to a friend.

Jones The Grocer catering is absolutely awesome! Great food, reasonable prices, and very special! Kieran their head pastry chef did an awesome job and the service was supreme with easy email and mobile contact! The food was delivered in individual boxes adding to the exclusivity. Yummy raspberry tart, delicious macaroons, delectable chewy anzac biscuit and a rich chocolate brownie was split with a goyrmet baugette and dainty salad and juice for lunch! Delicious and so much better than average fast food muck!
