Iron Duke Hotel

Overall, especially for Sydney, a pretty average pub. They do weekday deals which is nice, but they don't really do many events, and they could DEFINITELY use a pool table or any bar games for that matter Where they lack the most is atmosphere and price. They have a great tap selection, but extremely expensive prices. Look, I get it, alcohol exise is expensive, but you MUST as a pub, find ways to make it affordable. 12 bucks for a Schooey of a 6% beer from a reasonably large craft brewery is a big no no for me. There are PLENTY of places that serve even smaller breweries with higher ABV for less, js Overall, I would only go here in a pinch.

A spacious pub which has outdoor seating. A pub where you can relax and spend a nice evening without a lot of noise. Really close to the Redfern station but there’s street parking around that area. We were there on a Monday evening so it was a bit quiet but the food was tasty, and my cocktail, a Lemon Myrtle Margarita was yummy. A local pub you’d love to visit

The Iron Duke has improved out of sight over the past year or so. The staff are really friendly, and the kitchen churns out some of the best steaks on Waterloo! Starters are decent (Sau Bao is some of the best food I’ve tasted at a pub in ages), and the beer plentiful. Weirdly, the atmosphere around the pool table is my favourite place for a game - I don’t know why but there’s something about it that is just FUN. Iron Duke also has dog friendly space in the beer garden, which makes it an all round winner in my book.
