Ho's Dim Sim Kitchen

This shop sells a great range of frozen dim-sums like dumplings, buns and so on. They also sell hot food like the HK egg tart, Portugese sweet tarts and some deep fried stuff (for the Australian tastes). The food tastes ok, but nothing outstanding and the prices are a bit higher than they should be due to its CBD location. On a recent return, there seems to be a change of ownership as the shop is now run by Thai people. While the core business remains the same, it seems to have taken the path of selling fusion Thai/Chinese food.

AVOID THIS PLACE, NOW THAI FOOD Chinese food is gone from the take away counters, last time I went they were out of egg tarts and har gow were dry, like they were sitting there for half the day! It’s now filled with Thai food. Gone are the BBQ pork pancakes, spring rolls, mixed dim sim, sui mai, rice pudding and chicken feet! So sad, loved this place. Bye Ho’s Dim Sim Kitchen PS. It's an okay place that sells sweet and savory Thai and Asian delicacies. I notice just one table and a couple of chairs inside so I'm not sure if you can eat inside. Hard to describe this place as I didn't really feel the true atmosphere when I visited. I entered mainly to buy Thai "sweet cakes". The staff who served me was a bit abrupt and unfriendly voice repeating " anything else??" without a pause. Along this side of Pitt Street there are about 4 or 5 similar establishments that sell similar stuff as this store, so I would not be going back! There's wheelchair accessible entrance. You can buy pre-prepared meal-to-go, steamed or fried dim sum, strir fried meat with rice and soft drinks. Floor was a bit greasy and just feels overall like a place that needs thorough cleaning! Not my favourite.

I have been coming to this place for years for cheap dim sum and snacks. However today I found myself in a rather unfamiliar environment when I saw the place being run by Thai ppl and selling Thai food rather than the usual Chinese staff. The dim sum choices are lack off and replaced by Thai options. I don't think I'm coming back anytime soon.
