Black Pony Cafe

I really enjoyed my lunch here. Ordered a big vegetarian breakfast and I loved every piece of it (roasted mushrooms, spinach, egg, etc). My dad had a salmon salad, which he liked. My brother had eggs with salmon, and guess what - he was pleased with it. The atmosphere was really nice, with background music directly out of the 90s (my time as kid and teenager). The guy with the beard is nice and fun to talk with. Overall, I am glad that we found this place :)

Waited 15mins for the waitress to acknowledge me. It was pretty awkward feeling when I was by myself didn't get serve. I got a voucher from Groupon, asked for a large coffee but I got a small one. Food was in big portion but it was below average. Especially the scramble egg was really dry and tasteless. I wouldn't spend this money on long wait and below average meal. There is huge potential if they improve their customer service and food quality.

Disappointing. Looks the part for Coogee, the decor was great. The coffee wasn't bad, tho it turned up when we half way through our brekkie, no table water even though all the tables around us had some. I ordered poached eggs on sour dough, nice and simple, but they were very stingy with the toast, 1 small slice cut in half. Barely enough for the egg to sit on and the poached eggs were hard. Nothing worse than hard poached eggs in my book! Maybe we just got them on an off day.

Trendy beach side cafe with beach themed decor. In winter I felt cold inside the shop as there was no heating and the open door allow the crisp winter air inside. The side walk tables had blankets but no heaters. They have big fans for summer so I figure it must get hot in summer. It was really was there only me and two other tables when I visited (not busy). Service was quick. My berry frappe was great. The fig toast was different. I didnt like it but if you like fresh figs, you will probably love it. They play loud music so it was a little hard to read or work. This place was ok but I think I will go else next time.
