#notworththevisit with an hours time till my appointment, I decided to treat myself to the $30 breakfast buffet. Oh wow what a bad decision. They need to improve by 100% what they offer. Enough said oh.... And if you need to fix your sound system don't schedule the guy for breakfast time. You've upset about 20+ guest who endured sound tests for 30 minutes+

Windows on the Park has a great vantage point, overlooking the quieter side of Hyde Park. It offers decent food, but there's definite room for improvement both in food quality and service. My entree, mussels in cherry tomato ragout ($18), was generous and wholesome. The mussels were cooked well: none of them were unopened. The tomato ragout was seasoned well and hit the spot. I wish I was offered some bread to mop up this tasty sauce. My main, the lamb rack ($38), was overcooked (requested medium rare, came out medium well), although still tasty. For the price, it could do with more accompaniments than three fried onion rings and sauce - they could easily have thrown together an apple or fennel salad on the side, it really wouldn't take much more effort. For dessert: bombe alaska ($16). The layer of ice cream inside was a icy, and the smear of chocolate and scant placement of berries on the side of the bowl was underwhelming - if the chef was going for flair, better off piling more berries right next to the bombe alaska and adding some crumble for texture instead. This dessert fell a bit flat. The service we received throughout the evening was also sub-par. There were only two waitstaff working the restaurant, which was hardly busy (max. 5 tables), and somehow they still managed to struggle. One was clearly inexperienced and hesitant, while the other was more authoritative and came off as cold. Better training and attention to detail would remedy this. Overall, our evening at Windows was fine, but far from great. Given the price range, look elsewhere until improvements have been made.
