Johnny Wong's Dumpling Bar

This place gets 5 stars because of a few things. The food was good, the portion size was good, the seating was nice (not next to anyone) and overall just a good meal. If this place was in a mall, it would be a 4, if it was a stand-alone store, it would be a 3. But for an eatery in a venue, this place is great. Perfect for before, during or after drinks. If I’m ever around, I won’t second guess dropping in for some dumplings.

first off the bat walking in, was given no recognition or greeting. after ordering and waiting for an unnecessarily long period of time, our two servings of dumplings arrived. at first glance the dumplings appeared delicious and satisfactory, though it wasn't until closer inspection that we noticed a medium sized cockroach attached to one of them, and had appeared to be cooked with them! so disgusting... after getting the attention of a waiter, he simply took the plate away, without muttering a single word, he took the plate and disappeared into the kitchen. only to be seen approximately 15 minutes later with what appeared to be a freshly made plate. again, no apology or words spoken or any offerings to make up for the disgusting violation of health and cleanliness. not to mention, i am a vegetarian, having greater reason to be dissatisfied. the dumplings tasted good, though due to bad service and a whole cockroach among my food, will not return to johnny wong's, or hesitate to share my horror story.

Small dumpling place on the way up to bowling. Definitely some of the better and more affordable dumplings in the area - pork buns were good and not too sweet, and dumplings were really generous portions for the price. My boyfriend and I split: pork buns (3 pc), gai lan (massive portion) , boiled pork dumpling (5pc - big dumplings) and prawn go gee (5 pc) and were full for the night.

What can I say about this place other than it was absolutely fantastic. The guy running the place clearly knows how to deliver an excellent service with outstandingly delicious dumplings. The prawn har gow are a must. Great decor and good beats brings together an excellent dining experience. Will be going back/10
