Roll'd

I visited Rolld Gateway Sydney today and totally loved it. I got the Beef Pho and a Beef Rice Paper Roll and it was wonderful. I was really late for lunch (about 2:30PM) and they were still open and making fresh great foods. The food was fresh, it has nice ingredients and the staff were just wonderful. Pricing was fair too. Shall be back there soon and LOVE THEIR WORK!

Food was polular at this store during Vivid Sydney this year at winter time! I ordered a beef pho and a roast pork&crackling Banh Mi last night. They were both good to try especailly the banh mi I loved the crackling inside. Staff was friendly and well trained and the owner was a very nice guy!! Will be come back again!

I hate leaving negative reviews but it just doesn’t deserve any more. Bought a BanMi. It’s a glorified sandwich. This is in no way traditional or what makes a traditional Ban Mi great. I love coriander and normally in BanMi I buy there’s plenty. In this one, there was a tiny sprig. Not good. And the chicken was drowning in sauce. It always worries me when place over use sauce. What are they hiding.Too much and made it soggy. Also got a couple of rice paper rolls. Nothing to write home about. But what was eye watering was the price. I know I was at the airport BUT. Serious. $5.50 for a bottle of water. They are kidding. All up I paid $30 and was not impressed. Complete rip off for what I had. I’d be more accepting of the price if I ate something satisfying and nice, but that’s not what I got.

Had a light takeaway from Macca and it’s too light and thought of trying Rolld beef noodle soup, since it’s an authentic dish from Vietnam and what can screw up right? Place my order, get my buzzer and wait in front of their counter. Food takes about 10 minutes to serve but since they only have 4 staff working - one in kitchen, one in cashier and two in counter it looks like it’s acceptable but than after watching how they worked, think it’s unacceptable. As a matter of fact, Too Slow and all the staff are not in any hurry or concern to serve customers, hence it’s a fast food and it’s not even fast at all. What piss me off is the water which is use to soft-soak the rice paper for Vietnam Roll, is friggin dirty and contains bits of food dropping underneath, thus the staff still using it to soak the friggin rice paper instead of having a single hygiene move to even change it. I mean, how hard is it to throw away the old water and refill a new one? It’s not like taking hours to climb the mountain to get fresh water. Totally ruin my appetite. They can do this kind of unhygienic act just right in front of counter, imagine how it is inside the kitchen unseen. Some more, the already soak rice paper were left unattended on the counter table without immediately handle it and the two staff were chatting and chatting with of course who knows how many saliva customers been eating all this time with these kind of poor food handling. The beef noodle soup in fact is really pathetically the worst Vietnam style beef noodle soup I ever had. Pathetic little of beef slice and all it contains much was the pail of noodles. I was so thirsty after having that and just imagine how much of MSG they throw in the broth. What a disgrace to beef noodle soup. Never again for sure.

Ran out to grab a quick bite , saw the sign 'Express for soldiers and drinks' lined up hoping to be served as two employees are working at the two other counters. Waited more than 5 mins while i watched 10-15 other customers served first at the other counters. Not one of the workers bothered to look at the 'express' line. Honestly DO NOT put an express sign for people to line up and waste their time! And please train your employees to not argue back saying, 'no one was at that counter to serve'.
