Oh my goodness, I really want to rave about The Dining Room's Christmas Dinner! Wow! This is our second visit and I cannot fault them (not trying to). We had 1 person in our group with Coeliac Disease and she could have the complete menu. This is very rare, anyone with allergies would know. This is our second visit for Christmas and I really hope it's becoming a tradition. Thank you to the staff at The Dining Room for looking after us on Christmas night it was perfect 👌

We had dinner at The Dining Room on Australia Day. The food was superb. The Moreton Bay bug was a real highlight. The Iced Vovo with plum sorbet dessert was fantastic. The service was great. Until it suddenly took a nosedive… After we had our dessert, one of the waitstaff (let’s call her Tiffany) suggested we should move from our window table to the lounge. Which would have been fine - if it wasn’t for the fact we had a half-hour remaining on our reservation. The kicker was this. After we suggested we’d prefer to stay seated at our table and have some drinks, she promptly left us and we were without service for 20 minutes. Which left me wondering, is this normal practice for a restaurant? Once you’ve finished your dessert do you need to get up immediately and be shuffled around the restaurant? Is it really a hassle for us to stay seated where are and enjoy a dessert wine or a coffee? As I said the food was wonderful. And the view was second to none. But this experience really left a sour taste.

Food was delicious although very small portions even when you order 3 courses, I left still really hungry. Service was pretty good however extremely awkward when they bring the bill and ask to you face “would you like to leave a tip”. A waiter should never ask this, if I want to I will and if I don’t then I will not.
